YEARS IN VIETNAM
ABOUT US

10 years of turning tourism into action

In Vietnam, 86 percent of those living below the poverty line are ethnic minorities, many of whom live in rural areas with difficult access to employment, education, and public services. Since 2014 Action on CBT has used tourism as a means to create sustainable livelihoods for disadvantaged communities in Vietnam. Through our experience we’ve developed an inclusive tourism model that delivers direct, positive impact to people in vulnerable rural areas. Join us in our mission to break the cycle of poverty and write an inspiring new chapter in tourism.

OUR WORK

A new model

Since 2018 we've piloted our 'village stay' tourism model as a framework to answer the challenges of tourism. The model is a product of years of working directly with rural communities in Vietnam. Since its launch, the model has received provincial, national and regional recognition, including the ASEAN Community-based Tourism Award in 2019.
