ACTION ON CBT

Community-based Tourism In Vietnam

WELCOME TO ACTION ON CBT!

Action on CBT is a new Community-based Tourism (CBT) network developed by Action on Poverty (AOP) in Vietnam. We support disadvantaged communities in rural Vietnam through community-based tourism and sustainable livelihood models. Our CBT homestays and activities projects are now open in Da Bac and Xuan Son, with more locations coming soon. We look forward to your visit!

DA BAC CBT

Da Bac CBT is AOP in Vietnam’s first CBT project. Located in Hoa Binh province, about four hours west of Hanoi, the CBT is made up of three villages: Da Bia, Ke and Sung. Each one offers authentic homestays and a variety of activities and experiences, set amongst beautiful scenery.

XUAN SON CBT

Located within Xuan Son National Park, Phu Tho province, the Xuan Son CBT is the perfect location to escape the city and bask in Vietnam’s natural beauty while learning about local Dao and Muong cultures.

ACTION ON POVERTY

Action on Poverty empowers local changemakers to break the cycle of entrenched poverty in some of the poorest communities in Africa, Asia and the Pacific. Discover more about our work in Vietnam.

WHAT IS COMMUNITY-BASED TOURISM?

Community-based Tourism (CBT) is a responsible and inclusive form of tourism that involves local people in all stages of decision making. For visitors, CBT provides authentic experiences and a real insight into local life. Local families are directly involved in tourism activities and benefit from tourism both economically and socially. On a community level, tourism is a positive force for environmental protection and cultural preservation.
