XUAN SON CBT

Xuan Son CBT is the second tourism project developed by AOP in Vietnam. Established in June 2017, the CBT is located southwest of Tan Son District in Phu Tho Province, 120 kilometres from Hanoi. Xuan Son CBT lies within the Xuan Son National Park, an area abundant in caves, river systems and limestone karsts, and home to a variety of animals. The local community are mainly Muong and Dao people who focus on rice cultivation and husbandry to make a living. Because of the limited availability of suitable land, some people have unfortunately resorted to illegal harvesting. This small community is made up of about 200 households, with 43% falling below the poverty line. For this reason, as well as the area’s natural beauty, AOP identified Xuan Son as suitable for developing community-based tourism. The Temple of Hung Kings in Viet Tri City is located 90 kilometres from the park and is one of the most popular religious and spiritual destinations in Vietnam. Along with the temple, national park and newly developed trekking routes, improved tourism infrastructure and AOP support in Xuan Son CBT is giving the project momentum to follow in the footsteps of Da Bac.
